Privacy
What happens to a document you upload, in plain terms.
The short version
We convert your file and then delete it. We do not ask who you are, we do not read your documents, and we do not use them for anything except producing the file you asked for.
What we collect
- The document you upload, and the Word file we produce from it.
- The country your payment came from, which we are required to keep as evidence of how the sale was taxed.
- A cookie holding a random token for each order you create. It is what lets your browser come back to your own order and nobody else's. It is not used for tracking or advertising.
- Ordinary server logs: the time of a request, the page, and an IP address, kept briefly to keep the service working and to deal with abuse.
We do not ask for your name or your email address, and there is no account to create.
How long we keep your document
Your upload and the converted file are deleted within 24 hours. Download what you paid for before then: once the files are gone we cannot recover them, and we cannot convert your document again without you uploading it afresh.
Payment
Payments are handled by Stripe. Your card details go directly to Stripe and never reach our servers — we see only whether a payment succeeded, its amount, and the billing country. Stripe processes that information under its own privacy policy.
Checking you are a person
Before an upload is accepted we may show a challenge from Cloudflare Turnstile. It is there because converting a document costs us work whether or not anyone pays, and without it the service can be consumed by automated traffic. Cloudflare sees your IP address and some technical detail about your browser in order to answer that one question. It is not used to track you across sites and it sets no advertising cookies. Cloudflare handles it under its own privacy policy.
We also limit how many documents one address may convert in a period. That is enforced from the address the request arrives on and nothing about it is stored.
Who else sees your document
Nobody. The conversion runs on our own servers. Your document is not sent to any third-party service — not to Cloudflare, not to Stripe, not to anyone else — it is not used to train anything, and no person reads it as part of the normal operation of the service.
Security
Traffic to this site is encrypted. Conversion runs in an isolated process that has no access to the network at all, so a malformed or hostile document cannot reach anything beyond the file it was given.
Your rights
Because we hold nothing that identifies you, there is usually nothing for us to look up or delete on request — and after 24 hours there is nothing left at all. If you want a document removed sooner than that, write to support@convertpdf2docx.com with the order link and we will delete it.
